Motivation:
Since land registry data started to be digitalised in 1995, around 2.5 Million properties were sold in Greater London. Ever wondered how housing prices have evolved over time and where the prices are distributed?
What do these map show?
Each block represents a group of postcodes, that have been associated to Land Registry data. Within the block, we have computed the average price of the properties sold in a certain period, which is shown in yellow at the top-right of the page.
This is the first in a series of data visualisations we will be publishing that will study the open data behind the social and economic factors that are shaping the city of London
We want to use data to better understand the city, to gain insight into what the city of the future might look like and how can we prepare ourselves for the twenty first century challenges of growth in urban populations and decreasing natural resources in an increasingly connected world.
The data provided on this site is for information only.
The project is work in progress, please forgive some inaccuracies.
