Tekja has developed an algorithm that provides walkability scores to any street segment within the Global Instititute on Innovation Districts’ network.
Pittsburgh was the case study that helped investors and residents to shape a strategy for street improvements and opportunities within the area.
The research has been developed through a series of data sources, including a large database of mobile GPS data, street network analysis, street morphology and land use. The algorithm has been developed with the aim of it being adapted to different areas and scaled up as needed.
