We transformed complex longitudinal survey data into a compelling visual narrative that places individual human experiences at the centre, and reveals how these personal stories collectively shape a broader understanding of place, wellbeing, and community.
The resulting immersive physical and digital experience brings Born in Bradford data to life through insightful and playful installations. It invites audiences to reflect on how access to green space influences wellbeing, while prompting a shared conversation about how communities can actively shape healthier, more inclusive environments for the future.
Visitors are not passive observers. They are invited to contribute their own ideas and experiences of local green spaces, with responses captured and visualised in real time. Over the exhibition’s four-month run, this evolving “thermostat” of public opinion grows and shifts—creating a living portrait of collective sentiment.
The exhibition culminates in a striking three-dimensional visualisation in which thousands of individual survey responses are represented as points within a shared spatial form. Together, they demonstrate how everyday lived experiences – distinct, personal, and human – can aggregate into powerful insight, revealing patterns, connections, and meaning at scale.
