Interview with Reuters
Reuters interviewed Tekja co-founder Amanda about how the data we produce as citizens can inform our understanding of the spaces in which we live. The following is an excerpt from the interview:
You can understand where people are, where people are moving, and from a city perspective this is really interesting because you can reveal, in effect, the invisible city. You understand things about citizens and places that you wouldn’t before.
We believe that data has real potential to do good in the world and improve and empower citizens. It’s vital that citizens know the information they’re giving away, and it’s important that when anyone uses data at a higher level that they understand the implications of data privacy and that they work to empower citizens.
