Tekja were approached by Octo Telematics to bring the stories in their huge telematics datasets to life for the VIP audience at the Octo British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The concept was developed on the premise that we each drive over 50,000 miles each year and each journey reveals its own unique trail of information, an intimate insight into daily lives. The Tekja team began run quick feasibility checks and sketches to reveal the stories this huge dataset contains.
Expanding on these concepts, Tekja created a triptec animated installation that followed thousands of cars as they made their journeys through three major global cities, revealing the ebbs and flows of the synchronous movements of hundreds of thousands of people navigating their way through London, Boston and Rome.
Running synchronously, the visualisations of each city pull out key moments of the city’s life and unveils the power of geospatial analysis on large scale datasets.
