BBC Producers invited TEKJA to take part in the very first BBC Click Live show, that showcased ‘the best technologies seen in 2016’. For the show, Tekja created a bespoke live visualisation using real time biometric data generated by the studio audience.
The audience were asked to watch a specially compiled video of BBC archive footage whilst wearing biometric wristbands provided by Studio XO, (Lady Gaga’s TechHaus) that were, unbeknownst to them, capturing data about their emotional state in real-time through sweat sensors.
TEKJA co-founder Amanda was interviewed and asked to reveal our process to the studio audience whilst presenting a series of data visualisations that revealed the highs and lows of audience emotion, played back to the audience in sync with a replay of the video they were watching as the data was captured, together with a specially made soundtrack that used the same data as input.
The program was broadcast on BBC1 on New Year’s day and live on Facebook.
